We were lucky enough to get invited in to try out their ‘chef’s table’ 6-course tasting lunch with wine pairings…. a great variety of options with portions sufficient enough to leave you more than satisfied.

Price Point:

Lunch at the chef’s table is €55 PP for 6 courses & €45 for the wine pairing which I felt was very fair for the quality of food, experience & beautiful wine. Dinner is priced at €100 PP for food & €45/75 for the wine.

I know that €120 is more than most of us would spend on lunch but I walked out of there feeling that it’d be money very well spent for the experience we had, I was blown away by it & it really felt like a special occasion, Far more memorable than 3 €40 lunches so, if you feel like treating yourself or someone special this should be your first port of call.

Atmosphere:

The chef’s table is a purpose built table which can sit up to 6 people inside the front area of Chapter One’s kitchen. You can see right in to the chefs with a partial glass partition which aids in avoiding feeling like you’re in there with them.

Sitting like that adds a real air of excitement to the meal & creates a buzz that’d be hard to replicate at a regular table.

Service:

Incredibly professional staff. The chef comes to your table to explain each course as well as a sommelier who explains his thought process behind each wine pairing… that might sound off putting to some but its not intrusive at all; they’re thorough but efficient.

This process allowed me to enjoy the food & wine even more as I understood the story behind it, a really lovely experience.

Why I liked it enough to share:

Firstly, the food was absolutely delicious, nothing short of perfection with presentation so flawless I felt bad eating it! The staff were incredibly professional, so knowledgeable and the whole experience just really left a lasting effect, without doubt an excellent option for a special occasion meal, one of the best meals I’ve ever had.
