My First Food Post!

To this day I’m still unsure as to what exactly a ‘foodie’ is but if its someone who loves eating out, trying new places & new dishes well, then I’ll happily stand under that umbrella. I’ve been surrounded by people passionate about food growing up with my Mom being a phenomenal cook and Sean being just as good so I’ve been fortunate enough to experience as many good meals at home as I’ve had out and about.

The time I spent backpacking was a great way to try new foods and experiences different ways of eating… we were just out of college and on a strict budget as we travelled through 14 countries so eating with the locals was brilliant both financially and, as a way to really immerse ourselves in various cultures. I made a point of trying something new every place we went which is something I’ve continued to this day when I go abroad. On returning home, we found that people weren’t going on nights out as much so eating out instead just seemed like the natural progression.

The way I see it, eating and getting dressed are 2 things we do every day as routine so why not make the most of these rituals by getting creative and trying something new with them as often as you can? By mixing my personal style up and trying new restaurants it stops the everyday becoming mundane… I get to have fun doing the things I’d ‘have to do’ anyway & it makes an occasion out of the ordinary. That spontaneity keeps things fresh for me & the more I try new thing, the more I feel inspired.

Considering how much I eat and, how much I enjoy eating out it seemed a shame to not document this part of my life on the blog in some shape or form. For that reason, starting this month I will be doing a food post every 4 weeks. It will document some of the places I tried over the last 30 days which will hopefully serve as inspiration for anyone lingering on the question ‘Where will we try next’?.

Don’t forget to tweet me any spots you think I should try, always looking for inspiration!
