The Woollen Mills, Ormond Quay
The Woollen Mills
Menu/ dishes:
The most progressive lunch menu I’ve seen in Dublin in a long time… you’ll get no panini selection here! I could’ve ordered several things off this menu & still have been excited for the food to arrive… lots of great fish & vegi options too.
Price Point:
Around €17 for an all-day main which is a little steep for lunch but without doubt worth it for the quality of food, menu choices & presentation.
Atmosphere:
We sat outside where there was a lovely atmosphere to watch the world go by but offered enough shelter so you don’t feel like your literally sitting on the Ha’penny bridge… even though you almost are.
Service:
Our waiter was polite, efficient & attentive.
Why I liked it enough to share:
Here’s the deal; I actually visited The Woollen Mills for the first time not long after it opened wanting badly to like it on the back of excellent review but, I just didn’t. On that experience I felt that the food was ‘meh’ the atmosphere felt chaotic… it just fell short for me.
Not being one to write somewhere off on one experience I decided to return & was absolutely blown away but the food-Cathal described it as the best lunch he’s had in Dublin (he has the truffled polenta which was unreal). Our entire experience was faultless making this place more than deserving of a spot on this month’s list.
Perfect for:
A delicious & exciting lunch catch up.
