Unicorn Restaurant, Merrion Court
Unicorn Restaurant, Merrion Court
Menu/Dishes:
A small but carefully planned menu of Italian fare. We opted for the pre-theatre menu sharing the Insalata Caprese to start, for mains I had the Tortelloni Asparagi while sean went for the 21 Days Dry Aged Black Angus steak (at a €6 supplement) and we then shared the tiramisu for dessert.
Price Point:
€22 for two courses felt fair for the portion sizes and quality of ingredients.
Atmosphere:
This is one of Dublin’s very few lesser known terraces, one of the few places you can still get a dinner reservation in the sun without making it weeks in advance (especially with the epic weather we’ve been having this summer!), it has a blissfully relaxed atmosphere without the bustle you get dining in street-based terraces.
Service:
The service was incredible from start to finish, the staff were so warm and friendly, they knew the balance of being attentive without being overbearing and they were so welcoming to Stanley; Sean was worried about bringing him as it is a ‘white table cloth kinda place’ but they were delighted to see him, even bringing chefs out of the kitchen to say hello to him!
Why I Liked it Enough to Share:
The food was really tasty and fresh, the service was fantastic and the terrace is an absolute gem for Dublin summers… get in now before everyone finds out about it!
Perfect For:
An early evening summer dinner.
