Wow Burger, The Workman's Ormond Quay
WOW BURGER
MENU/DISHES:
The menu is limited to exactly what you came for… burgers & a mouthwatering selection of sides. We went for cheeseburgers & sides of garlic butter fries & chilli fries.
SERVICE:
The staff were unbelievably friendly & seemed genuinely proud of what they had going on down there. It’s not table service, as you’d expect but the chefs & service staff all seemed happy to be there & even happier to help. Wow Burger is diner style.
ATMOSPHERE/DECOR:
About as hipster as you can get with the food being served in the smoking area of The Workmans… the decor is painfully ‘instagramable’ with a funky diner feel & retro vibes galore. The food was presented in an oh-so-American way in trays with printed wrappers & boxed fries.Don’t let the location put you off though; there wasn’t a hint of cigarette smoke mixed with the delicious scents wafting around that room.
PRICE POINT:
Extremely reasonable; 6EUR for the burgers, 3/4 EUR for the fries. I mean, in the city center & for that level of quality they could get away with charging a lot more!
WHY I LIKED IT ENOUGH TO SHARE:
I’m always impressed with establishments make the effort to be a hybrid of services for the community & this venture is no exception… they’ve create a fun atmosphere in an area of the bar that was pretty much dormant until after 11pm… the staff were notably helpful, location was a really fun spot to spend an hour in and, the food itself was faultless. Top that off with killer prices & you have yourself a blog-worthy experience
PERFECT FOR:
A fun dinner out with mates the week before payday.
