A Day In Dublin With Karen Constantine

I’m starting my perfect day by…

Leaving the phone at home and heading to St Anne’s Park for a walk to clear the head and get some steps in.  No music, no podcasts, no distraction, just out in the fresh air.

I’m heading for a solo breakfast so I head to…

Moloughneys in Clontarf – pancakes with bacon and maple syrup… Need I say more?

No morning is complete without an epic coffee. I grab mine from…

McDonalds.  I KNOW!  But it’s so good and cheap too!

I have to catch up on work so I work from…

Good old Starbucks.  It doesn’t matter which location I go to, I have somewhere to plug my laptop in, I have wifi and I have caramel macchiatos!

All that work has worked up an appetite so for lunch I head to…

Musashi on Capel Street.  This has the best sushi ever, it’s so fresh and affordable too, and there’s nothing like having a big feast there.  The salmon avocado roll is the business, as are the pork gyozas.

I meet a friend with their kids so to keep ‘em entertained I bring them to…

Token.  And I get to be entertained too even if I am pure rubbish at Mario Kart…

Next up, a spot of shopping. This means I’m straight in to…

Arnotts.  Their Beauty Hall is pure heaven and I’m in love with it!  As for the rest of it, I’m sorted for shoes, clothes, homeware, books, stationery, you name it!

I want to impress an out-of-town friend so I bring them to this Dublin hidden gem…

Glovers Alley.  I’m not sure how hidden it is, but I’ve only been there once and between the food and decor, it’s just beautiful.

I’m going for a celebratory dinner so it has to be…

Jamie’s Italian.  I know, hardly groundbreaking but that’s where our family meets for food and chats as it’s midway between where we all live.  We always get the same round table in the corner and it’s somewhere that we love and we know Dad would have loved too.

This night calls for a drink so I bring them on a mini pub-crawl to three of my faves…

The Marker Rooftop Terrace at sunset… Ooh it’s beautiful. Can’t beat the Morgan for a cheeky cocktail and I love House too.

Those drinks have got us in the mood for dancing so it has to be…

Club Nassau.  I love me some cheesy 80s dancing!  Not gonna lie, I don’t go out dancing that often as I’m an official geriatric, but I’m all over anything 80s, even 90s at a push!

All that dancing have worked up an appetite so, we grab some late-night eats in…

Zaytoon! Nothing like a dirty feed from there to help with the potential hangover the next day

My favourite thing about the city is…

The constant energy.  There’s always such a buzz about the place whether it’s in the middle of the day or the middle of the night.  There are always new places opening up and ready to try out!

If I was a tourist in this city I’d definitely stay in…

The Alex.  Interiors goals right there!
