So, off I went to the Galway races last week with a few days and a great day was had. We decided to head down for ‘ladies day’ where there seems to be an extra effort put into dressing up & there are prizes for the best dressed women.
I didn’t intentionally go against the unsaid ‘frock and hat’ dress code but, not being a big dress wearer and having found my dress search extremely unfruitful I decided to go with something I liked rather than something that would meet expectations. When I saw this cape on Nasty Gal I just knew that this was the basis for my look so I built the other pieces around it.
In the end I was happy that I went with separates that I will get plenty of wear out of even after the last race whistle blows. To top it off, my friend compared me to Karl Lagerfeld, reluctantly at first, until she realised that I was taking it as a compliment… after all, I had decided I want the day’s look to be based around clean lines going with masculine pieces and no accessories so, who better to be compared to!?
