Heavy Knit Aran Cardigan

A few photos I took yesterday before running into town for lunch & shopping with a friend. Im going through a real neutral colour phase at the moment, finding myself only wanting to wear black & white, simple lines & clean basic cuts… I hope it’s just a phase because my wardrobe houses a lot more eccentric items than basics so I’ll have to do an overhaul if this nonsense continues! Maybe I’m unintentionally being influence by the S/S 14 collections which seem to mirror the 90’s basics & nudes, I’m not really sure but none the less… that’s all I’m feeling at the moment!

I simply cannot pass this post without a mention to the beautiful heavy knit Aran cardigan I am wearing, the Aran Islands are a group of 3 very rural islands off their coast of Ireland where my parents spend most of their time, it is a place like nowhere else in the world that I have seen & I know I am lucky to have ties to this stunning Irish attribute.

The world-famous Aran knitwear is made on the island and while I was travelling my mom was kind enough to get one of the few ladies who still hand knits original Aran sweaters to make me this cardigan based on a design & colour that I chose… very lucky 🙂 It is amazingly warm, so heavy & feels very luxurious, they are very pricey to buy from shops so I know I am very fortunate to have a couture knit to call my own.

Lastly, I bought my first pair of Dr.Denim jeans a week ago & have since gone back to get the same pair in a different colour… I am loving their high-waisted comfortable style, they are a very similar style to the AA high-waisted jeans but at 50 EUR they are a bargain at a third of the price… all ya’ll know the amazing feeling of finding the perfect pair of jeans, this is a brand well worth checking out!

Boots, Asos. Jeans, Dr.Denim. Stone necklace, Bangkok market. Dreamcatcher necklace, Ebay. Silk cami & heavy black blazer, Thrifted.
