Sand Sculpture Exhibition & The Fumbally Cafe

I spent a lovely day at the Dublin sand sculptures a while back and went for lunch in the Fumbally, a gorgeous place on Clanbrassil street that has a kind of ‘urban industrial’ feel to it… a breath of fresh air after all of the ‘kitch, granny chic’ places that seem to have sprung up all over Dublin. The Cake Cafe was the first that I remember doing that theme years ago & it was adorable then but now its nearly impossible to avoid and definitely not so inspiring.

The sand sculptures championships are displayed every summer in Dublin castle and are worth checking out. The talent is unbelievable & makes my droopy attempts at sand castles look even more unimpressive… if that was possible!

Finally worth a mention (as this is where I bought my shoes) is the Dublin flea market which is on the last Sunday of every month in Newmarket square off Cork street. Its a lovely day out, theres food, coffee (a must on a Sunday morning :)) and loads of bargains to be gotten… I go every month that I can & usually go striaght for the clothes but theres pleanty of one-off homewares & trinkets. You can find amazing bargains, theres always a handfull of girls clearing out their very covetable wardrobe for next to nothing & dont be afriad to haggle… its expected!

Zara skinny jeans, Irish Cancer Society €3.50. American Apparel v-neck, Dublin charity shop, €3. Nike air max, Dublin flea market €2. Check shirt, Shoreditch Vintage shop, €9. Adidas bag, Bangkok vintage shop €20. Gold necklaces, gifts.
