The Lucky Tortoise, Ranelagh

The Lucky Tortoise, Ranelagh

Menu/ Dishes:

‘Modern Dim Sum – Made from scratch and served family style’

A pop up dumpling spot in the heart of Ranelagh, Sean and I went for the ‘All In’ which was a taste of all dumplings and sides on the menu.

Price Point:

€20 each to sample all the menu offerings seemed like fair to good value to me.

Atmosphere:

I’ve been to other pop ups in the Hobart Cafe and they always seem to have the same laid back vibe… likely due to the fun element to their dining experience and the fact that its BYO. The acoustics in this place aren’t great so if you’re the type to get irritated by a loud surrounding (like myself!) I’d pop in on a quieter night.

Service:

It’s a one-man show here when it comes to service and he does it very well.

Why I Liked It Enough To Share:

I love dumpling so a pop up spot focusing on just that was always going to be somewhere I was excited to share- the dumplings were incredibly fresh, the menu was exciting and ordering ‘all in’ was such a fun way to eat as the little dishes just kept arriving.

Perfect For:

Chilled out date night.
