When I qualified as a psychiatric nurse many years ago I went from being in college 5 days a week and working at the weekend to having 4 days off in a full time job… so what was I supposed to do with this sudden surplus of spare time? I started looking at whats on in Dublin as a way to fill my time with culture and activities rather than just doing the same things with my spare time week in week out.

In the few years after I finished college I really got to know Dublin and explored so many different things happening around the city; some absolutely amazing… some absolutely not! I relished in getting to know Dublin so well and, the more I got to know the more I fell in love with the city and it’s vibe… I absolutely love Dublin for it’s characters, it’s charm and it’s variety of endless activities.

I developed a really good skill for researching what’s on in the city but, I’d be lying if I said that I didn’t find it hard to get the information, it often took me an hour just to plan one simple evening in the city and, if I wanted to know whats on this weekend I’d have to search for ages to get the answer. So, when I returned to the city after two years travelling the world I thought I could be the solution to my own problem and started thinking about the idea creating my own Dublin event guide instead.

I started my site thinking I had to blog about fashion as it was all I really saw people blogging about at the time. I loved the idea of having a blog and loved (still do love) sharing personal styling posts so, I was happy to do just fashion content for the first two years my blog was up and running but, the more I shared my Dublin life through social media, the more people asked for me to share my Dublin knowledge with them so I started  seriously considering that idea of creating my own Dublin event guides.

I wanted to focus on a mix of all types of events happening around the city as well as children’s events and free events. I wanted to include an array of theatre, markets, open mic nights, comedy nights, festivals and more to suit every different interest and thankfully after creating these weekly events posts for almost a year now I’m glad to say I think I’ve achieved what I set out to do.
