Fallon & Byrne, Exchequer Street
Fallon & Byrne
MENU/DISHES
I ordered the pan-seared Dingle hake, braised salsify, burnt scallions,
King Oyster mushrooms, verjus, Sean had the slow-cooked Achill Island lamb, wilted red cabbage,
butternut squash purée, hazelnut & orange gremolata… both from their brand new lunch menu.
PRICE POINT
15.95 for mains is perhaps a little more than you might pay for a standard lunch… but this aint your standard lunch! As soon as the food arrives you can see (… and taste) where every cent is going.
ATMOSPHERE/DECOR
Fallon & Byrne’s restaurant is classic elegance at its best… the decor is timeless with the beautiful bar set as the feature point at the end of the room. Huge windows feed the wandering eye making this spot perfect for solo diners as well as couples & small groups. The noise level is low without feeling eerily quite so, perfect if you’re not inclined to roaring across the table to company
WHY I LIKED IT ENOUGH TO SHARE
If you’re a long time reader of the blog, you’ll know how important service is to me so, when a restaurant has great food AND brilliant service I feel they deserve a place on these monthly shortlists. Fallon & Byrne’s restaurant adds a touch of glamour to your day as soon as you walk in; the white table clothes, thoughtful menu & superb staff make this spot an excellent choice for an enjoyable lunch,
PERFECT FOR
Bringing your mom out for lunch or, a business meeting to impress.
