There is no pressure to keep still or quiet, leaving parents free to sit back and enjoy the music. In fact, we encourage the babies to interact naturally with the music, and we have play mats and soft toys to this end.

Of course, the babies benefit from the music as well, so it’s a win-win.

There was an old order in this land, a code of honour that bound us together in respect for one another and for nature, a belief that the most beautiful sound in the world was the sound of what is happening now, at this very moment. What happened to that old way? Why did we lose it, and can we find it again?

Cost- €10

Time- 19.00-22.00

Children’s event– Malahide ‘Music for Babies’ Cello Duo

Location- The Visitor Centre, Malahide Castle & Gardens

Description- Relaxed, fun & affordable classical music concerts for parents, kids, toddlers & babies in local community settings. Classicalkids.ie was formed in 2013 by mums Aura and Sylvia. As professional musicians, we have a strong desire to share the joy of live chamber music with parents, babies and children, in a relaxed and child-centred atmosphere.

Too often in the early years of parenting, concert going is synonymous with the stress and pressure of keeping babies and children still and quiet. That’s if they are even allowed to be there at all!

Not at classicalkids.ie. We believe interacting in a natural way, whether that’s dancing, making a noise, or playing, is key to absorbing all that the world of classical music has to offer.
We have play-mats, colouring, toys and music worksheets to facilitate this musical journey.

For the adults, the opportunity to sit back and enjoy live music, in an informal and accessible community based setting

Cost- Adults 13, children go free

Time- 11.00-12.00
