EventEnd-of-Year Student Concert

Location- National Concert Hall

Description- Taking place in the National Concert Hall’s John Field Room for over a decade, the New School’s annual End-of-Year Student Concerts are both entertaining and diverse, showcasing a wide range of our instrumentalists, singers and ensembles, as well as winners of our annual scholarship competition.

Come to support these fine musicians and join us for an entertaining and diverse evening of music!

EventThrilling Trad – A series of traditional Irish music concerts

Location- Dame Castle, Dame Street

Description- Dublin Castle has teamed up with Comhaltas, Craobh Sean Treacy for a series of traditional Irish music concerts in the stunning surroundings of the Chapel Royal. Learn some of the stories behind the music and be swept away by the beautiful melodies and instruments of the Irish music tradition.

Tickets are just €5 and can be purchased on the day or online as long as availability lasts! Book now to ensure your place.

It’s not everyday that visitors can experience some of the best Irish tunes in one of Dublin’s most striking surroundings!

Children’s eventBaby Massage – Sandymount

Location- Sandymount YMCA, Calremont Road

Description- Baby massage is a wonderful experience shared between you and your baby. It provides numerous physical, psychological and emotional benefits for babies and the families who care for them. Joining a baby massage classes is a great way to spend quality time with your baby and to meet new mums.

Our Baby Massage course is suitable for babies from 6 weeks to 9 months. The course run over four classes, held once a week in a warm, clean, comfortable space. Massage stokes are taught in stages over the weeks so baby becomes used to touch and you can practice at home and ask questions when you return to class the following week. All ClapHandies instructors have trained with the International Association of Infant Massage and are members of Baby Massage Ireland (required for claiming on your health insurance)

Description- Offshore Film Festival is a film festival which aims to bring the sea into cities with a selection of the world’s best film related to sea sports such as sailing, surfing and diving.

Children’s eventMalahide: Music for Babies – Woodwind Trio

Location- Malahide Castle and Gardens

Description- We are delighted to welcome our woodwind trio to end the current Music for Babies series in Malahide. Rebecca Halliday (oboe), Ríona Ó Duinnin (flute) and Cliona Warren (bassoon) will entertain us beautifully with a morning of popular classics.

Children’s eventFamily Concert: Peter and the Wolf with Westland Wind Quintet

Location: National Concert Hall

Description- Expect to be enthralled by the timeless story of Peter and his dealings with the crafty Wolf by Sergej Prokofiev with the Westland Wind Quintet. Delve into all-time classics for everyone to enjoy, and learn the story of the wind quintet through the music of Jacques Ibert.

EventOrgan Freeman – Weekly Jazz Sundays

Location- The Big Romance, 98 Parnell Street

Organ Freeman – Irish jazz organ trio
Organ Freeman specialises in the music of the bebop and hard bop idioms of the early 1950s and 60s. Playing standards by composers such as Miles Davis, Sonny Rollins, Wayne Shorter, and many more in the classic organ trio format.

The trio are organist Darragh Hennessy, guitarist and singer Charlie Mooney, and drummer Faolán Collins.

Children’s eventFree Summer Concerts in the Parks: Herbert Park

Location- Herbert Park

Description- Dublin Concert Band’s popular series of summer concerts in association with Dublin City Council returns this year, with five family-friendly and free Sunday afternoon performances in some of Dublin’s most welcoming parks. So pack a picnic and come and enjoy an entertaining selection of classics, jazz standards, favourite movie scores, and music from musicals in a park near you.
